UpCycle announces new Chief Executive

UpCycle Chief Executive Jon Warrick will step down at the end of June 2025,. He is succeeded by Mark Flannagan who is already in post.
Jon Warrick’s tenure
Jon became CEO in 2020 following the retirement of UpCycle’s founder, David Brown. Drawing on experience gained with GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Systagenix and Hoya, Jon guided the charity through many challenges , including the Covid‑19 pandemic. During his time with UpCycle he significantly expanded its community operations, including new workshops and community projects. Jon has plans to retire, although he will continue to volunteer with our community programmes.
Welcoming Mark Flannagan
We are thrilled to welcome Mark , who joins UpCycle with nearly four decades of voluntary‑sector leadership, including time as Chief Executive of a national cancer charity. Mark has an impressive skill set that includes communications, policy, public affairs and campaign leadership. An enthusiastic road cyclist, Mark brings both professional insight and personal commitment to UpCycle’s mission. “I thank Jon for his legacy, leaving a fantastic charity that delivers vital work. I am looking forward to working with the team to keep us moving forward with impact.”
