MCF Founder David Brown Retires

In July 2020, the MCF charity will be 10 years old and having passed that milestone, David Brown, the CEO of MCF has decided to step down.

David has led the charity from the start with great commitment and energy, his personal values have shone through in everything the charity does and with a strong team around him and the prospects for the future look bright.

Throughout the last 10 years David has supported delivery of training in prisons throughout Northern England and we have seen hundreds of prisoners receiving qualifications in cycle maintenance in that time.

In the community he has led the introduction of projects that deliver employment, training, and education to young people, some of whom have been excluded from school or have been subject to court orders.

MCF has successful projects operating in Bradford and Shipley and most recently helped support the delivery of loan bikes for front line NHS medical workers during the Covid-19 crisis.

Chair of Trustees Bill Schofield said:

David Brown has shown a great commitment to supporting disadvantaged and disaffected people and he will be missed by MCF . We wish him and his wife Susan a long and happy retirement.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic we have been unable to gather as planned to mark the occassion of David’s retirement. Instead we have been delivering leaving gifts in small groups. The staff presented their gifts to David at the end of July and a few weeks later (after the local restrictions on meetings were lifted in Bradford) the chair of Trustees, Bill Schofield presented the gifts from the trustees.
