Bikes helping young refugees in Greater Manchester

NEW HOMES FOR BIKES REFURBISHED AT WITHINGTON ROAD APPROVED PREMISES
We are thrilled to have been able to make another donation of refurbished bikes.
We were approached by an organisation that supports young asylum seekers and refugees in Greater Manchester. The young people are all between 15 and 19 years old and have to travel quite a way to go to college and and attend the weekly sessions that support their mental health.
We were able to deliver 9 bikes the majority of which were refurbished by residents attending the workshop at Withington Road Approved Premises (with another 2 refurbished by the team at the Shipley Bikery).
The young people were all happy to receive their bikes and now use them regularly.
I use my bike to go to a big park near where I live, I like to be outside it makes me feel better

If you have a bike you no longer want or need then please consider donating it to MCF so it can be refurbished in one of our workshops – complete the form to tell us more.
The bike project is part of a wider project, delivered in partnership with Achieve North West Connect and part funded by the European Social Fund.
