Bike Donations Making a Difference in Bradford

Housing Support Worker from Hope Housing, Laith Sweiss contacted MCF to ask if we would be able to donate bikes to two of their clients who they were supporting.

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone and the lockdowns and ongoing restrictions in the prison workshops mean that MCF has been unable to donate as many refurbished bikes to beneficiaries this year. We were delighted to be able to help these individuals, knowing how much of a difference having a bike can make.

George and Viktor were delighted with their ‘new’ bikes from MCF with helmets, lights and locks supplied by Hope Housing. Viktor said: “It would help us to explore Bradford outskirts and develop some physical skills and opportunity to spend time in a company of good people. Plus inspiration to be fit and do some trainings.”

We are hopeful that we will be able to support more people, like George and Viktor in 2021 with refurbished bikes. If you have a bike you would like to donate then please let us know. We can arrange local collections in the West Yorkshire area or you can drop it off at HMP Kirkham farm shop or at our Bikery in Shipley.
